Are You Ready For A New Year?

Reflection is one of the most underrated yet powerful tools for success.
— Richard Carlson

The end of another year is upon us.

Many of us are scrambling around, doing holiday tasks, closing those last sales, trying to hit our numbers and goals at work. Before we know it, a new year will be here and we’ll be back on the same old treadmill.

One of the things that helps me move forward into the new year is taking some time to reflect on the past year. I found that if I do not reflect and adjust, I will only repeat the struggles and challenges of this year into next. This time of year definitely inspires me to take a look at my life and business. How have things gone this year? What goals would I like to achieve next year? It’s important to take a breath and think about setting the stage for success in the coming months.

Here are a couple of quick and easy things you can do to take stock and/or prepare for the future:

  1. Do a quick “year-end review.” I’ve got a free printable/fillable right here.

  2. Use some downtime to think strategically about what you want. Just think—don’t evaluate, don’t judge. If a great idea pops into your head, capture it.

Don’t wait until you’re in the thick of next year to look up and wonder why you’re not progressing like you want to. Take some time now to set yourself up for the best year yet!
